Yilan Golden Murcott Tangerines Now in Season for the New Year

Golden Murcott tangerines, with their vibrant golden skin, thin peel, juicy flesh, and exceptional sweetness and flavor, are a unique and emerging citrus variety from Toucheng Township, Yilan County. Their harvest season typically falls between January and February, making now the perfect time to enjoy their fresh taste!

To enhance the production and marketing flexibility of the Golden Murcott industry, the Hualien District Agricultural Research and Extension Station of the Ministry of Agriculture has conducted experiments on fruit storage techniques in recent years. The studies revealed that storing the tangerines at 10°C not only reduces fruit decay but also enhances flavor and extends their shelf life. This provides valuable insights for local agriculture and ensures consumers can enjoy high-quality Golden Murcott tangerines during the Lunar New Year season.
