New Solution for Pomelos! Full Application of the Pomelo Fruit
To increase the added value of pomelos, pomelo-producing areas and local farmers' associations have been racking their brains to find ways to expand beyond fresh fruit sales. In recent years, with the growing issue of labor shortages in agriculture, and the problem of unsold pomelos, the Hualien District Agricultural Research and Extension Station of the Ministry of Agriculture launched a project to develop pomelo processing equipment. This initiative aims to promote the research and development of mechanical processing techniques for pomelos. The project has successfully established a comprehensive mechanical processing workflow for pomelo fruit. By using machinery to assist manual labor, it has enabled mass production of processed materials such as pomelo peels, essential oils, and pulp. This significantly reduces the time and labor costs involved in the pretreatment of pomelos, while also optimizing the utilization of downstream industries for pomelo processing.
