Overcoming summer heat, the HDARES promotes green onion variety 'lanyang no. 5'
Green onions are the most important and economically valuable vegetable crop in Yilan County, known for their high quality and favored by consumers. In light of this, The HDARES of the Ministry of Agriculture has been actively engaged in the breeding, cultivation techniques, and pest management of green onions. On June 17, 2024, the "Green onion New Variety Lanyang No. 5 Cultivation Demonstration and Observation Meeting" was held in Sanxing Township, Yilan County, attracting many local green onion farmers. The feedback from farmers at the event was positive, and the session also promoted the 'Three Insurances and One Savings' welfare system for farmers, encouraging them to apply.
