A Golden Carpet Of Blooms Drifts Across Hualien’s Mountain Ridges—Chike Mountain and Liushishi Mountain In Full Flower
As late summer gives way to early autumn, Hualien’s most iconic high-mountain daylily season officially begins. This year, the daylilies on Liushishi Mountain in Fuli Township and Chike Mountain in Yuli Township have entered full bloom. Thanks to plentiful rainfall this year, the flowering is especially lush—making it the best time to visit in nearly five years.
In addition to continuing its efforts in breeding through hybridization and providing guidance on cultivation techniques to help farmers improve field management, the HDARES is also actively promoting the integration of agriculture with leisure tourism. This allows visitors not only to admire the layered scenery shaped by morning mist, afternoon sunshine, and the glow of the evening sky, but also to gain a deeper appreciation of the unique value of Hualien’s local agriculture and culture.
