“From Millet to Beans: A Harvest Song by Indigenous Children” — Indigenous Agri-food Education Showcase
The HDARES recently partnered with Taiping, Zhuoqing, and Zhuole Elementary Schools in Zhuoxi Township, Hualien County, to host an agri-food education showcase titled “From Millet to Beans: A Harvest Song by Tribal Children.” Through cultural performances, project demonstrations, and fun competitions, the event highlighted the achievements of a joint effort by the Station, local schools, and the Tse-Xin Organic Agriculture Development Foundation to advance food and agriculture education in Indigenous communities.
In addition to presenting the children’s year-long learning journey, the event also symbolized the sprouting and continuation of tribal farming wisdom within the school campus, drawing strong participation from local residents, parents, and partner organizations.
